Businesses, organizations, and individuals have an excellent opportunity to play a role in history while shaping the De Soto community for the future. We hope everyone will want to be a part of this effort. Anyone who lived in De Soto and who was employed by one of the three railroads, for which our community has provided a home, can be honored in the memorial whether they worked in De Soto or elsewhere. Of course, anyone who worked at the De Soto Railroad Car Shop may be honored in the memorial.
We offer a variety of objects suitable to be engraved. Prices shown include engraving. Objects include granite benches, various sizes of granite blocks and fired bricks. In addition we offer a limited number of locations where a memorial tree may be purchased and planted. Signage will be affixed dedicating the tree to the person (or group) being memorialized. Significantly greater contributions will be rewarded in a manner befitting the gesture, such as sponsorship of a primary feature of the memorial site. Engraving, while limited by the size of the object purchased, could include the name of a business or practice, an organization, a church, etc., along with a logo if desired and space permits.
Sponsor a family member or friend by purchasing a 4” x 8” brick, to be incorporated into the red brick plaza of the memorial. The price per brick is $50 and the bricks can be engraved with a worker’s name or nickname. Individuals without a family member or friend to sponsor can adopt a worker.
For an additional $10, you will receive a certificate of sponsorship suitable for framing. This document will be a welcome addition to your family history.

We are happy to announce that we now offer two new additional options to express your interest in the person to whom you are making a dedication. For an additional $25.00, you may include one photo (size will be limited to 72 dpi and up to 480 by 720 pixels).
Our second option, starting at $35.00, allows you to provide a written biographical sketch of the person being honored by your dedication. The biographical sketch (the bio) may include one photograph at the $35.00 level. The size of the bio is limited to 220 Kbytes (including the size of the photographs). Additional photographs may be include (limited to overall size limits mentioned above) for $25.00 each.
