City of De Soto – Fire Marshall/Building Inspector
The City of De Soto is currently accepting applications for a Fire Marshall/Building Inspector to assist in ensuring that all construction within the City of De Soto meets zoning, safety, flood plain, building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical code requirements, and that all existing properties are maintained and operated according to the codes and ordinances of the City of De Soto. To pursue both formal training and informal on the job training with the purpose of achieving a better and more complete knowledge of construction building codes, City ordinances and inspection methods. International Code Council (ICC) certification and occupancy inspection experience preferred. Pay range to start at $34,320 annually, Depending on Qualifications. Starting January 1st, anytime a structure changes occupancy the owner/authorized representative will be required to apply for an occupancy inspection. The Occupancy fee for the City of De Soto is $30, this fee includes up to three inspections, thereafter a fee of $30 will be charged for each additional inspection to be paid prior to the time of re-inspection.
