Manhole Rehabilitation
The City of De Soto received over $300,000.00 as part of
stimulus funds. The used these funds to help
reduce/elimate the amount of inflow and infiltration the
sewers receive during heavy rain events. This solution
to repair and use strong seal compared to manhole
replacement was easy strong seal is done all in place at
the manhole which means no additional cost for street
repairs, disruption of services to the business or
residents location.
It is estimated that there is over 1,100 manholes throughout the collection system and to date, the City has strong sealed approximately 70 percent of them which has reduced our inflow/infiltration while increasing the sewer collection systems capacity and making it safer to enter these manholes which some have been in our system for over 125 years.
