Welcome to the City of De Soto Department of Public Safety home page.  Here you will find all the information that you need to know about the two agencies that make up the Department of Public Safety. 

The De Soto Fire Department and the De Soto Police Department. In 2007 The De Soto Police Department and The De Soto Fire Department became the De Soto Department of Public Safety.  While both agencies work separate of each other, some Police Officers are trained and continue to train with Firefighters to help providing the best possible service for the citizens of De- Soto. 

The De Soto Fire Department has an outstanding staff of volunteer firefighters and having policeman trained as firefighters is for back-up purposes. The Department of Public Safety is directed by Chief Don Kraher.  The day to day operations of the De Soto Fire Department are carried out by Assistant Chief Craig Block.
