COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONDe Soto Community Foundation mission is to assist in the development of civic projects in the De Soto community. Founded in the summer of 2001, the De Soto Community Foundation is an exciting group that helps organizations secure funds for projects and programs that improve the quality of life in the De Soto area. Through the De Soto Community Foundation, groups and individuals work to obtain financial assistance through grant procurement, scholarships and specialized fundraising. The Foundation is a not-for-profit 501-3C corporation, with a 21-member Board of Directors representing a broad range of community leaders. These board members, along with countless volunteers, work together to enhance the overall life experience for out citizens. In the development of various projects, the De Soto Community Foundation supports plans that address the issues of health, safety, education, diversity, history and recreation in our area. With the assistance of the De Soto Community Foundation, a local organization obtained a grant for the development of a walking/biking trail in the community. As a resource, the De Soto Community Foundation will help groups or individuals get necessary funding for all kinds of projects that will benefit the community. Grant applications for assistance are available through the De Soto Community Foundation and are listed below.

report on each funded project describing expenditures and results. · Individual applications (except through designated scholarship funds). · Partisan, political, lobbying or denominational programs. · General or administrative overhead charges, salaries, travel expenses or other indirect costs. · Advertising or fundraising drives. · Endowment or capital campaigns or “bricks and mortar” projects. · Request not made in writing.
